10 Fun Things to Do For Valentine's Day 2022!

Yes, it’s that time of year again! The time of year where people profess their undying love for each other in the way of gifts, vacations and spending extra special time together. If you’re stuck and need a little extra help with making Valentine’s Day plans, don’t worry! Read this blog and I’m sure you’ll walk away with at least one more option than you had before.

I am in no way affiliated with any company or brand that I mentioned. I am not being compensated for this blog post.

  1. Book a Getaway House
I’ve seen this idea floating around social media for the past couple of years and I personally am excited to see it! Getaway Houses are “cozy cabins that provide restorative stays in nature where you can take a break from work, wifi, and routines, and enjoy the company of those who matter most.” They’re located just outside many major cities which you can find here on their website. Getaway Houses are great mini-vacation stays for couples because there’s a small kitchen to cook in and depending on where you’re located, there is a pit where you can roast marshmallows. There’s also a cellphone lock box that you can use to totally disconnect from the outside world and get away. If you head over to their website fast enough, you may be able to catch an available date for Valentine’s Day!

  2. Make a romantic candlelight dinner for two in your living room
This is a great idea for those that may need to save money but still want to celebrate their partner. Or, for the couple that just likes to spend more time at home. Creating a romantic candlelight dinner can be fairly easy to set up. All you will need is a table, nice tablecloth (Amazon) pillar candles and dinner! Cut off all lights except for the candles and sit down for a romantic, private dinner.

  3. Go axe throwing!
I first went axe throwing in 2020 and at first I thought it was strange. But once I kept going and playing with my husband, I found out how fun it can be! Axe throwing is a great way to have fun and friendly competition on Valentine’s day. It’s a different type of activity but fun nonetheless. And yes, you’re actually throwing real axes! Just search for axe throwing places in your city to find one near you. Many axe throwing places also house multiple activities such as escape rooms, bumper cars and even laser tag. Have fun!

  4. Go on a horse and carriage ride
This next activity depends on the city where you’re located and what the weather is like in February. Horse and carriage rides are old school but still very romantic and can be very special. Looking out into the dark nights, staring at the stars can be a very intimate moment. Just Google to find one in your area.

  5. Go wine tasting
This is my type of event! If you engage in the occasional glass of crisp wine, wine tasting is a great Valentine’s Day activity. Places like Coopers Hawk offer wine tasting inside their restaurant. Wine tasting is fun because you can get all dressed up, put on your fancy shoes and have a nice night out with great wine.

  6. Go to a spa
Ok so if wine tasting is number 2 on my list of favorites, going to a spa is my favorite of all favorites! Receiving massages in a fancy robe with a glass of lemon water is the ultimate experience. There are different ranges for the type of massage you want to receive and Groupon has great coupons for couples massages and individual massages so I suggest you go check there first and ALWAYS read the reviews.

  7. Go to Dave and Busters, Main Event or any other arcade/entertainment place
For the adventurous couple, going to hang out at Dave and Busters, Scene 75, Six Flags or any other arcade/entertainment venue may be the move for you! I do enjoy these types of activities. They’re very fun and they allow you to blow off steam and just have childlike fun. This idea is also good for couples with children.

  8. Attend a comedy show
I attended my first ever comedy show with my husband before we were married and it was one of the best times. I like activities that give a certain type of nostalgia like visiting jazz clubs and attending comedy shows. Maybe this is because my favorite movie is Love Jones, HA! Comedy shows are good because some clubs include the price of food and drinks with your ticket so you’re able to eat a meal.

  9. Couples game night
Ok, game night is definitely on the list of my top three favorite activities! Bring out a game of Taboo and I’m down for anything (jk ha!). Game nights are also low-cost, fun Valentine’s day activities. Make it a potluck and invite other couples out to play.

  10. Take a cooking, baking or cocktail making class
My husband and I took a cooking class one month into our dating relationship and we had the BEST time! We both enjoy cooking and us working as a team was definitely a turnon ;) Groupon again is a great place to search for couples classes. These classes are also a great way to meet other couples to form friendships.

Now that you have 10 options for Valentine’s Day fun, go out and plan something nice for your partner! If you have a great night, let me know how it goes. And if you have a bad night….well, still let me know and we can talk through more options!
