My Journey as a Blogger and New Influencer!

When I first created my Instagram account in 2011, I never thought it would bring me so many rewarding opportunities. I’ve met amazing women from across the world as I’ve shared my personal testimony of how God saved my life. Recently, I’ve even been able to collaborate with household brands to receive great products and create an extra stream of income as an influencer.

Why did I choose to become a blogger? Well, I’ve always been highly interested in writing. When I was in the third grade, I wrote and illustrated my first short story and submitted it to a local contest for young writers. I was so proud of the fact that I could take the stories and ideas in my head and turn them into an actual book! At that moment, I knew I wanted to take my writing skills seriously and I dreamed of the day that my name would be published in national publications. So, I began writing more stories, poems and essays all throughout middle and high school. I participated in all sorts of contests, won a few and even interned for a local newspaper. By the time I graduated high school, I knew I wanted to be a journalist. And I went off to college to pursue this dream!

While in college, I hit a lot of bumpy roads. I flunked out my freshman year and returned home to start over at the local community college. Worked my way through school and even snagged an internship at one of the top 5 magazines in the city. I graduated college with a bachelor's degree in journalism and secured a full-time position as a communications specialist.

Although my career path veered slightly away from becoming a journalist, I remained active in writing by starting my blog in 2016.

I started my blog during a time when I had just accepted Christ into my life and I wanted a place where I can share what I was learning, feeling and experiencing. I wanted a place where I can share my thoughts on important topics and help women navigate life as I was. Similar to blogger/influencer Kayla Williams who shares her story here https://intellifluence.com/blog/kayla-williams-influencer-spotlight, I didn’t see many women that looked like me and shared a story like mine in this space so I decided to create it!

So for the past 6 years, I’ve been sharing my story, thoughts and wisdom in my blog about faith, womanhood, relationships, adoption, abandonment and more.

Once social media influencing started becoming popular, I didn’t think I was capable of being like other women I looked up to. I didn’t think I was stylish enough, cool enough or let's be honest, attractive enough to become an influencer. But, after realizing how much confidence I have and how much power I hold as a woman God specifically created, I took a chance and jumped into influencing! It has been a great six months and I’ve learned so much about myself and what I can achieve when I put my all into it.

My goal is to work with national brands like Target and be successful enough to have my name listed alongside other great influencers on lists like these https://collectivedge.com/blog/5-inspiring-influencers-moment/

I want to continue inspiring women to know who they are in Christ all while enjoying life and becoming a blogger and influencer has helped me do just that!
